Course Aim & Objectives
AIM : To raise business performance through improved
leadership and teamwork.
OBJECTIVES : Course objectives vary between our programmes, but will include some or all of the following:
Increase personal awareness and effectiveness. We all need to understand ourselves, our own personalities and what motivates us; before we can begin to understand other people, their personalities and what motivates them. Understanding our own strengths and areas requiring development, before we can appreciate the differing strengths and development points of others. This understanding will help us to raise our own, and our team's, effectiveness and performance. Programmes may include use of Psychometric Instruments, including the Myers Briggs Type Indicator® (MBTI®).
Leadership Skills. Our courses will help delegates to develop their own leadership style to suit their own personality, the varying situations they find themselves in, and the needs of those they are leading. We are more concerned with making delegates aware of the impact their style and behaviour may have or others, rather than trying to change them into something they are not - that is unlikely to last much beyond the end of the course. |

Team-development. Delegates will be part of a team on our programmes, and will experience how high performance teams can be developed in a short period of time - including the importance of diversity, and dynamics of team development. Sound leadership and team-development are complementary skills and requirements.
Communication skills. Delegates will have considerable opportunity to develop their confidence and verbal communication skills. Active listening and non-verbal communication skills are also developed to avoid failures in communication and the resulting conflict.
Business Information. All organisations have to seek out information both internally and externally, then process that information into 'intelligence' that is relevant to the organisation's needs. Sources of information, including the Internet, are reviewed and then used in the Business Challenge Competition on the Business Leader Open Course.
Develop Decision-making Techniques. How to look at issues from a different perspective, also how to use the complementary and diverse skills of the team to tackle problems from less obvious directions. Examine all relevant factors and options before making optimal decisions. |

A course that actually met its objectives. This course lived upto my expectations. Although long at times and very hard, the momentum was maintained throughout. All the instructors were positive and supportive. It was extremely well organised. All the sessions met their objectives for me, and were of a consistently high standard. Stephen Fisher - Critical Care Services Manager, Staffordshire NHS Trust. |

Entrepreneurship. A two hour session on entrepreneurship,
followed by the 8 hour long Business Challenge Competition,
gives delegates a range of skills needed in all fast
moving organisations where results count. Subjects covered
include marketing, financial management and strategy.
Inspire. We aim to create the environment to inspire your people and increase their confidence to tackle issues that previously appeared too difficult or even impossible. To take those first difficult steps, and then see the challenge through. |
